Welcome to Week 42 in my journey to a healthier lifestyle. If you have read or followed my previous posts, you know that I have reached and exceeded my weight goal. Now, I’m trying to maintain my weight and improve my strength and overall toning.
I have to say that this past week hasn’t yeilded much of anything new for me to write about. I have somewhat settled into a routine of diet and exercise that seems to work well for me. I try to exercise everyday alternating cardio, strength training, core training, and toning exercises. Once a week, I take a long brisk walk outside and go for a minimum of seven kilometers.
I have designated every Monday to be my off/cheat day. I allow myself to eat whatever I am craving that day and I don’t do any exercise. It’s been very relaxing so far and my muscles have liked the rest.
The weather has turned cold finally and I have started to notice that my knees and elbows are getting more achy. This is the first year that I have ever been this small without the extra layer of fat to help insulate me against the affects of the cold weather. I think that all of that, combined with my age and increased activity, have made my joints hurt more. I’ve started taking more Turmeric (daily supplement) in an effort to try to fight the pain. I’ll let you know in a couple of weeks if it helps.
This week is when I post my monthly weight and measurements. So, here they are:
While there hasn’t been much movement in my measurements, I’m completely happy with where I am currently. I hope that my strength training will help tone and tighten my body more as time goes by and I continue my daily workouts.
If any of you want recommendations of which YouTube videos I use, send me a message or leave a comment below. I’ll happily share what has worked for me! Thank you for your continued support and encouragement. See you next week.
